What is the Hybrid League:The Hybrid League is designed to eliminate the void between rec ball and full time travel. As travel ball continues to become even more expensive and time consuming for families, the Hybrid League allows teams to get in the reps the kids need in a very cost effective and family friendly format. The hybrid format also facilitates the ability for a coach to focus on developing the kids on the team in a non pressured format. The Hybrid League is perfect for being able to rotate kids, pitcher development, and allowing the kids to fight through adversity in game situations without these coaching decisions negatively impacting seeding and ability to compete in bracket play. The biggest focus of the Hybrid League is the kids and teams development vs the win/loss record. This is how we define success of the league!Which teams can participate:The Hybrid league focuses on rec teams, all star teams and low level travel teams. Many parks no longer have enough kids to field a competitive rec teams and the only options is for a team to go travel. The Hybrid league is designed to allow parks to create a product that allows kids and families to stay at the park and play a more competitive level of baseball. This is also a way for established all star teams that are playing in their rec program to have supplemental games throughout their rec season. How are match ups determined:Based on the teams that sign up, teams will be paired based on their skill level. This will be done to the best of our ability of knowledge of the teams and the number of teams with similar skill levels. How will the schedule be created:We will work with each team to determine their preferred calendar. A team will highlight days they can play and we will try to make the appropriate match ups. If you have interest in single games or weekday games, please contact us for scheduling.Hosting:All teams that can host at their field will be given scheduling priority and a full schedule of games based on their ability to host. A team that does not have a field to host is still welcome to play, though the schedule maybe limited based on field availability. Many host teams utilize their allocated practice schedule, Sunday morning, fall breaks (each county is different) and partner with their field owners to pre-plan potential weekends in partnership with other competing schedules. The sooner this is done, the better likelihood of success.
